Mafia Community

The Mafia Community is the term used to describe the international organized crime families as a whole. The global Mafia Community is divided into ten regions over the six continents. Each of the ten regions is controlled by a community elder, a don. Together, these Ten Dons are the absolute highest authority in the Mafia Community. Every year, all Ten Dons gather in a secret location as the Mafia Community holds an Underground Auction in Yorknew City. The auction is an open secret, and security is provided by various Mafia families as well as local law enforcement agencies. The Auction is considered to be a prestige event, with families bidding on items for the sole purpose of displaying their wealth to other families worldwide, with five percent of the proceeds going directly to the Community.

[Association] The Heavens Arena

The Heavens Arena

A white tower that has 251 floors and his 991m tall towers of the city bellow. This tower is called the celestial tower or Heavens Arena and is the 4th tallest building in the world. The first arena has many platforms called rings where battles take place. All the people waiting for their turn are sitting on seats the go high so everyone can see. Above the 1st floor there are many rooms only one or more rings and a paying audience. There are screens above the first floor that display prier battles and results from the audience after betting using their command boxes. The build is divided into groups of 10, a fighter on the 50th floor if they win, will go to the 60th, but if they lose they go to the 40th floor. If one gets to the 100th floor then there are special individual rooms.

Heavens Arena fighters

1) Wing

Wing (ウイング Uingu?) is an assistant master of Shingen Ryu Kung fu; his main pupil is Zushi. He meets Gon and Killua at the Heavens Arena and eventually teaches them Nen. Although he initially refuses to train the two (even lying to them about the purpose of Nen), he changes his mind when they advance to the 200th floor of Heavens Arena, realizing they could die or be badly injured from the "initiation" rituals of other Nen users. For the next several months he teaches them the basics of Nen, after which he announces they have passed the secret final requirement for being a Hunter. He does however, somewhat fear their immense potential. Wing's teacher was Biscuit Krueger, whom incidentally becomes Gon and Killua's second teacher. Wing is voiced by Masami Kikuchi.

hxh - Wing

2) Zushi

Zushi (ズシ?) is a young boy who studies Shingen-Ryu Kung fu and Nen under the tutelage of Wing, whom Gon and Killua meet in the Heavens Arena. He is a formidable fighter and a prodigy in his own right, said to have skills only 1 out of 100,000 people have. However, he is quickly surpassed by Gon and Killua, who are said to have skills only 1 out of 10,000,000 people have. According to the results of his water divination, Zushi is a Manipulator.

hxh - Zushi

3) Gido

Gido (ギド?), one of the three fighters that challenge Gon and Killua on the 200th floor of the Heavens Arena, uses nen-charged spinning tops as weapons. He lost his legs during his "initiation" onto the 200th floor, and he gained a steel peg leg that he can use to turn himself into a giant spinning top.

hxh - Gido

4) Riehlvelt

Riehlvelt (リールベルト Rīruberuto?) is one of the three fighters that challenge Gon and Killua on the 200th floor of the Heavens Arena. He sits on a wheelchair propelled by his aura and uses two bullwhips as his weapons. The whips can also shock anyone who grabs them with a million volts of electricity.

hxh - Riehlvelt

5) Sadaso

Sadaso (サダソ?) is one of the three fighters that challenge Gon and Killua on the 200th floor of the Heavens Arena that target rookies for easy wins to become floor masters. His weapon is an invisible left arm made of Nen that comes out of his left sleeve of his long sleeve shirt. His physical left arm is always seen out of the sleeve, leaving his long sleeve shirt dangling (almost like his real arm in a cast, but it's unknown if he can move his real left arm). Sadaso kidnaps Zushi with his Nen hand to make Gon comply with his demands, namely having Gon forfeit in a match. However, Killua learns of the fight between the two and makes a threat against Sadaso's life, frightening him enough to leave Heavens Arena for good. It's unknown if Sadaso wears a mask (although it very much looks like he wears one), which is commented by a ticket seller when he's talking to Killua. When he leaves Heaven's Arena after Killa's threat, he is wearing sunglasses/goggles for the first time and his face looks less pale than before at this point (which might mean did have a mask) when he is leaving Heaven's Arena. He calls Gido while leaving Heaven's Arena to warn them that Killua will come after them next.

hxh - Sadaso

6) Kastro

Kastro (カストロ Kasutoro?) is a prominent and talented fighter in the Heavens Arena. He hangs out on the 200th floor of the Heavens Arena with the intent on building enough wins to become a Floor Master. His only loss was to Hisoka, so he trained rigorously to improve his Nen. After accumulating nine out of the ten required wins to become a Floor Master, he challenges Hisoka to a rematch. While he is quick out of the gate, delivering Hisoka a few hits without Hisoka knowing what is going on, Hisoka realizes that Kastro has been working in tandem with a doppelgänger created through his Nen. Hisoka then performs an illusion using Nen to throw off Kastro's balance, which makes Kastro just unstable enough to give Hisoka a win. Kastro's undoing was in the type of ability that he had chosen. Although he was born as an Enhancer, Kastro's ability completely ignored his strengths and used conjuration and manipulation. An Enhancer's maximum ability in these fields is 60% at best, so Kastro would never be able to use his full potential. Furthermore, his conjured double was also flawed in that although Kastro gets dirtied from blows dealt to him, his double remained spotless in combat due to it being merely a reflection of what Kastro saw of himself. Thus making it easy to distinguish between the two. Kastro is voiced by Yuuji Kishi.

[Association] Zoldyck's Servants

The Zaoldyeck Family's Servants

Servants

After the Hunter Exam is over, Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio travel to Kukuroo Mountain, the Zoldyck's home, to bring back Killua. As they enter the estate, they encounter three of Zoldyck's services. The first is the gatekeeper Zebro (ゼブロ Zeburo?), a friendly person who helps the trio train in order to open the Testing Gate. The second is Canary (カナリア Kanaria?), who at first wouldn't let the trio pass her station, but finally relents after repeatedly beating Gon in the head. The third is the Zoldyck's head butler, Gotoh (ゴトー Gotō?), whom all outside contact with family members must go through him and will allow no one to see them unless he is ordered to.

1) Zebro

Zebro (ゼブロ Zeburo) is a gatekeeper whose office is located near the entrance of the Zoldyck property. In order to prevent others from entering the Zoldyck estate on Kukuroo Mountain, Zebro holds a key specifically for intruders opening a false gate called the Door to Hades. Behind it is the Zoldyck's monstrous guard dog, Mike, who will promptly dispose of any threat. Even though Zebro appears to be an elderly security guard, he is actually heavily muscled and capable of opening the first door of the Testing Gate, weighing four tons.

hxh - Zebro
2) Siquant

Siquant (シークアント Sikuanto) like Zebro is an employee of the Zoldycks that cleans after Mike. He is a former black-list hunter that tried to get into the estate with a hundred men but was all stopped single handedly by Canary, He was a sole survivor of the ordeal and was under the employment of the Zoldycks ever since.

hxh - Sequant
3) Canary

Canary (カナリア Kanaria ) is a servant apprentice-in-training on Kukuroo Mountain. Anyone attempting to pass her post on the estate will be expelled via force. When she was 10 years old she wiped out a blacklist hunter together with a hundred men that tried to go through her post within five minutes. During Gon's expedition to Kukuroo Mountain, Canary refuses to Gon pass her assigned territory, but later accompanies him, Leorio, and Kurapika to the butlers' quarters. When she was first employed, Killua attempted to become friends with Canary by offering her an animal skull. Canary refused--considering her position as a servant, she did not deem it appropriate. However, the skull rests within the ball end of her staff. Upon Killua's initial return to his home after the Hunter Exam, he also gave Canary his skateboard.

hxh - Canary
4) Gotoh

Gotoh (ゴトー Gotō) is the Zoldyck family's head butler. Highly protective of the Zoldyck family, all outside contact with family members must go through him and will allow no one to see them unless he is ordered to. He cares about them as if they were his own family, but denies being emotionally attached with his employers.

hxh - Gotoh
5) Mike

The guard dog of the Zoldycks. It is a type of hound who has gone through strict training. Mike is trying to memorize the stranger's appearance and scent. It is showing no emotions and is hard to control. Other than the commands from Zoldyck family members, it listens to no one. The command that the Zoldycks gave Mike ten years ago is still loyally carried out, to kill all intruders. If something doesn't meet the requirement of the command, Mike will attack even its caretaker, without any hesitation.

[Association] The Zoldyck Family

The Zoldyck Family

The Zoldyck Family, also known as the Zaoldyeck Family, is a famous fictional family of assassins appearing in the Japanese manga and anime series Hunter × Hunter.

hxh - Kukuroo Mountain
The Zoldyck family is considered by and far the most deadly assassins in the Hunter × Hunter world. The family owns and lives at Kukuroo mountain, a dormant volcano in the Dentora region of the Republic of Padokia which stands 3772 meters. Their estate is surrounded by huge stone walls guarded by a giant dog named Mike and highly skilled attendants. Few people unrelated to the family have any idea what is within the estate. There is lots of mystery surrounding the Zoldyck family; a single photo of any of the members can be sold for millions.

Children in the family are trained from birth in the art of assassination, although each member of the family has the privilege to choose the specialty of their forte and liking as they grow up. For example, the oldest child Illumi seems to be a master of disguise; whereas the next oldest, Milluki, is a computer wizard and expert hacker. In every generation, there appears to be a prodigy child whom would be named as their heir. Currently, the heir to the Zoldyck business is Killua, one of the four main characters of Hunter × Hunter, though Killua has stated that he has no desire to inherit his family's occupation. It is believed that each member of Zoldyck's family begun their training from their date of birth.

hxh - Gates of Trial
They possess a unique set of talents: resistance to almost all types of poison, the ability to tolerate high amounts of electricity, and immense strength (Killua was able to open a 16-ton door before receiving any form of nen training).

hxh - The Zaoldyeck Family

1) Maha Zoldyck

Maha Zoldyck is Zeno's grandfather and the oldest assassin in the Zoldyck family. Maha has only appeared once in the series along with Kalluto and Illumi on a mission to kill the Ten Dons in Yorknew City in chapter 100 of the manga. Maha is the only Enhancer in the Zoldyck family, and is the eldest Zoldyck at the age of 98. It is also noted by Zeno that Netero is the only man alive that has ever survived a fight with him.

hxh - Maha Zaoldyeck

2) Zeno Zoldyck

Zeno Zoldyck (ゼノ ゾルディック Zeno Zorudikku?) Zeno is Killua's grandfather and Silva's father. A witty old man, his advancing age has not dampened his quick thinking and speed in battle. Zeno wears alternating signs on his garb that say either "A Kill A Day" or "Never Retire." He appears to be on good terms with the Hunter Committee's Chairman, Netero, who hired Zeno to assault Ming Jol-ik's palace in East Gorteau in order to catch the chimera ant king off guard. He noticeably hesitates in the battle when he realizes the King has come to care for the safety of a human prisoner. Zeno favors Killua more than his other grandchildren. Zeno Zoldyck is voiced by Tadashi Miyazawa.

hxh - Zeno Zaoldyeck

3) Silva Zoldyck

Silva Zoldyck (シルバ ゾルディック Shiruba Zorudikku?) Silva is Killua's father. A silent, pensive figure, Killua's interaction with him seems limited. He allows Killua to go along with Gon on their journey to find his father, but only because he sees it as a crucial step in his development as the head assassin of the Zoldyck Family. During the Southernpiece Auction in Yorknew City, Silva and Zeno are both hired by the Ten Dons to assassinate the Phantom Troupe, but withdraw from the job when their clients are killed due to a job taken by Illumi, Maha, and Kalluto. Silva recently appeared amid the assault on the Palace in East Gorteau, killing Cheetu on the way to pick up his father. He has killed an unknown member of the Phantom Troupe according to Killua. Silva Zoldyck is voiced by Kouji Ishii.

hxh - Silva Zaoldyeck

4) Kikyō Zoldyck

Kikyō Zoldyck (キキョウ ゾルディック Kikyō Zorudikku?) is Killua's mother. She was injured attempting to prevent Killua from running away from home to take the Hunter Exam, although she is proud of Killua for doing so. She is the maternal figure of the Zoldyck family and is an assassin herself. She seems to be slightly paranoid and is cautious of Killua's friends. Kikyō is looking forward in Killua to excel in assassination and anticipate that one day, he will continue on with the family business. According to Illumi, Killua is her favorite son. Kikyō Zoldyck is voiced by Rena Yukie.

hxh - Kikyo Zaoldyeck

5) Illumi Zoldyck

Illumi Zoldyck (イルミ ゾルディック Irumi Zorudikku?) is Killua's eldest brother. He is an experienced assassin, whom along with his father was responsible for Killua's training and upbringing. During the 287th Hunter's Exam, Illumi disguised himself as Gittarackur, using special pins to change his entire facial structure to the point where he can only be recognized by his voice. An oppressive aura from him makes even Killua fearful and wary whenever he approaches Illumi. Illumi holds a twisted and emotionless love for Killua. Illumi and Silva raised Killua to believe that the only thing sustaining him was darkness, and that the only joy he received through the world was in causing the death of others. He was also responsible for planting a needle within Killua's brain, forcing the latter to run from battles he was not sure he could win. Illumi did this to ensure that Killua would able to live to carry on the family business and as a means of protecting his little brother. This needle is self-extracted by Killua in the battle against Rammot. A certain amount of friendship is shared between Hisoka and Illumi, although it is unclear as to how it could have developed. Illumi once came to the aid of Hisoka by standing for him as a double in the Troupe hideout whilst Hisoka attempted to find Chrollo. Illumi Zoldyck is voiced by Urara Takano.

hxh - Illumi Zaoldyeck

6) Milluki Zoldyck

Milluki Zoldyck (ミルキ=ゾルディック Miruki Zorudikku?) is Killua's second eldest brother and an obese figure who possesses a strong aversion to performing any kind of physical activity. In fact, prior to the Yorkshin City auctions, Milluki had not left the mansion in eight years. He seems to be a sort of otaku, since his room is covered with female figurines from various anime and computer games. Milluki is talented in hacking computer systems, as Killua asked him to hack a memory card from Ging. He was also injured during Killua's escape. Milluki is primarily in charge of torturing Killua as punishment, but does not have the drive to carry it out very long as it is exhausting and extreme physical exertion is needed. After being tipped off the whereabouts of Greed Island, Milluki's excitement resulted in one of the rarer moments in which he made an outside expedition in search of the game. However, he was unable to win a copy and left in frustration. Milluki Zoldyck is voiced by Katashi Ishizuka.

hxh - Milluki Zaoldyeck

7) Killua Zoldyck

One of main characters, He is the third son of the Zoldyck family.

hxh - Killua Zaoldyeck

8) Alluka Zoldyck

Alluka Zoldyck is the missing child of the Zoldycks and has only appeared once during the series. In Chapter 229 of the manga, his back is shown in a picture of the five Zoldyck sons along with their mother. His name is officially stated in the official Hunter × Hunter Guide book in a family tree of the Zoldycks. An alternate way of discovering his name is via a pattern seen with the Zoldyck sons from oldest to youngest: IlluMilluKilluAlluKalluto. It is speculated he left his family and that his younger brother Kalluto has joined the Phantom Troupe in order to find him.

hxh - Alluka Zaoldyeck

9) Kalluto Zoldyck

Kalluto Zoldyck (カルト ゾルディック Karuto Zorudikku?) is the youngest brother of Killua. He was initially introduced accompanying his mother during Gon's retrieval of Killua from Kukuru Mountain. Kalluto appears again during the Phantom Troupe arc, assisting his older brother Illumi with the assassination of the ten mafia dons that placed bounties on the Phantom Troupe's heads. After the Phantom Troupe's entrance intoGreed Island, Kalluto joins as Hisoka's replacement. During the Phantom Troupe's assault on Zazan's palace in Meteor City, he reveals he joined the Spiders with the intention of finding his missing older brother Alluka. Kalluto Zoldyck is voiced by Yūko Maekawa.

hxh - Kalluto Zaoldyeck
10) Grandmother

The 10th living member of the Zoldyck family is the family's grandmother. She has yet to be named and has not been shown in either the manga or the anime.

Tonpa (トンパ Tonpa?) is nicknamed the "Rookie Crusher" by other candidates with more experience taking the exam. Tonpa has taken the exam for 35 consecutive terms, but has somehow never managed to pass. He often brags of his experience to those taking the Hunter Exam for the first time and then offers them a helping hand. Of course, this is merely subterfuge as he takes a perverse pleasure in sabotaging their attempts to get the license. This time around, he trailed Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio while attempting various means to foil their advancement. In order to do this, he used methods like spiking drinks with a strong laxative, feigning fatigue to delay the group's progress, and being contradictory simply to delay progress in a time-sensitive arena. To his chagrin, these had no measurable effect on their progress. He also attended the following hunter exam (during the Greed Island arc), where he was defeated by Killua; Tonpa was unable to keep hold of his number tag. Tonpa is voiced by Yoshihiro Togshi.

8) Hanzo

No. 294

Hanzo (ハンゾー Hanzō?) is an 18-year old Jōnin ninja from the Cloud Hidden Village whom has trained in the art of ninjutsu from the moment he could stand. He decided to become a Hunter in order to find the elusive Hermit's Scroll. After the first part of the exam, which is a marathon, Hanzo is easily able to converse while running—most of the others are breathless and struggling. In the second test, featuring cooking, he is the only one to know what 'sushi' is. He is the third candidate to clear the deadly traps and puzzles of the Trick Tower. When several people are stranded in Lippo's 'bonus stage', Hanzo takes the lead in getting them out. In the final test of the Hunter Exam, Hanzo is forced to battle Gon. His speed, strength, and battle experience easily exceed that of Gon. However, the only way to pass the final test to is force your opponent to admit defeat—Gon refuses to do so even after being severely beaten. Hanzo breaks Gon's arm to force him to admit defeat, but Gon still refuses. Noting the lack of hate in Gon's eyes after this act, Hanzo realizes he actually has come to like Gon. He willingly bows out of the battle, giving Gon the victory needed for him to pass the final test. It is later stated by Wing that Hanzo learned Nen after the Hunter Exam, though he has yet to reappear in the series. Hanzo is voiced by Yoshiaki Matsumoto.

9) Gittarackur

No. 301

He is the disguise of Illumi.

10) Pokkle

No. 5

Pokkle (ポックル Pokkuru?) Pokkle was taking his second attempt to pass the Hunter exam. He is an accomplished archer that carries a bow and shaft of arrows wherever he goes. The arrows are tipped with a potent tranquillizer that, even with a small nick, induces paralysis for any person for up to a week. Pokkle's aim in life is to become a successful wildlife hunter through obtaining the license. During the discussion that took place after the end of the Exam, Pokkle had lingering doubts over the way Kurapika had passed the last stage. In fact, he was always wary of Kurapika as he excelled on all aspects of character. After the Hunter Exam, Pokkle is not seen again until the chimera ant arc, where he is traveling with several hunters and Ponzu. After being defeated by several chimera ants, Pokkle is kidnapped and then manipulated by Neferpitou into telling the chimera ants about nen. After revealing it to them, Pokkle is killed and eaten by the queen. Pokkle is voiced by Yukiko Tamaki.

11) Ponzu

No. 246

Ponzu (ポンズ?) was one of the 24 that managed to enter the fourth stage of the Hunter Exam. Ponzu's secret weapon lies within her round cap, carrying neurotoxic bees under the surface that emerge and attack her enemies when threatened. During the fourth stage, her bees accidentally end up killing Bourbon after falling into his trap. Ponzu is rescued by Gon, but her badge is taken by Leorio when she is unconscious, causing her to fail the exam. She was examinee #246 during the Hunter Exam. Ponzu later accompanies Pokkle a year later to the N.G.L. region on an expedition. Their group learns of the dangers of the chimera ants and attempt to warn the outside world. However, before they get the chance Zazan's squad detects them and Ponzu is the only one able to escape. She runs only far enough to send a bee with a warning to the strongest hunter nearby, who happens to be Kite. She is killed moments later by an officer from Zazan's squad.
