Anime Lyric List

Now, I feel boring to update about HxH Association because I must find a lot of pictures to illustrate in articles.

It's difficult to find them, so I have to look anime episodes one at a time and capture some pics to use with. It wastes my time a lot. I kinda lazy to do it also.

Then, I stop to update articles HxH Association and decide to update HxH Lyric instead. I list the OP & ED songs and post the lyrics in next posts.

Main Character

Protagonists

HxH main character - Gon Freecss
Gon Freecss

Gon Freecss is the talented twelve-year-old main protagonist of the series. Gon was left in the care of his aunt Mito on Whale Island after she took custody of him in court. Holding great disdain for Ging's constant travels and putting Gon in danger, she forced Ging to give his son up so he could live normally. At the age of nine, Gon met his father's apprentice, Kite, who proceeded to tell Gon that his father was alive.

Their meeting steered Gon towards deciding to search for Ging and also influenced him to take the Hunter Exam. Gon is naturally talented in a variety of ways, including superhuman senses, uncanny learning potential, social skills, and immense strength. However, he is simultaneously prone to influence by things he finds intriguing regardless of their inherent ethics.

Throughout the series, Gon adventures alongside his best friend Killua Zoldyck as a Hunter. Gon has been received well by Japanese readers, placing third in the first character popularity poll.

He is voiced by Junko Takeuchi in the Japanese version of the anime series and Elinor Holt in the English dub.

HxH main character - Killua Zaoldyeck
Killua Zoldyck

Killua Zoldyck is the secondary protagonist in Hunter x Hunter. Born as the middle child to a family of renowned assassins, the Zoldyck family, Killua mastered the trade at a young age and was designated to be the heir to the family business. But Killua rebelled against his family and ran away from home. Befriending Gon Freecss during the Hunter Exam, the pair decides to go on a quest to find Gon's father.

Killua is in constant battle with his identity as a twelve-year-old and his identity as a murderer, often relapsing back to his former ways. Manipulated and tortured by his father and elder brothers, Killua has been raised to tolerate pain and simultaneously enjoy the act of killing.  His tolerance to pain is also what gives him his strength, as he has the ability to harness the power of electricity if it enters his body.

He is voiced by the voice actress, Kanako Mitsuhashi in the Japanese version and Annika Odegard in the English version.

HxH main character - Kurapica
Kurapika

Kurapika is the sole survivor of the Kuruta clan, a minority race with treasured irises that glow scarlet in times of anger or emotional agitation. A blacklist Hunter, Kurapica participates in the Hunter Exam alongside Gon in order to gain the power to take revenge for his race.

A band of thieves known as the Phantom Troupe murdered Kurapika's entire race for their scarlet eyes, highly sought after on the black market, and he subsequently surrenders himself entirely to vengeance.

Having killed two Phantom Troupe members, Kurapika is now haunted by the lingering auras of those he has murdered. But he vows to gain back all the stolen eyes of his people and destroy the Phantom Troupe, even if he must sacrifice his life in the process.

He is voiced by Yuki Kaida in the Japanese version and Cheryl Mcmaster in the English dub.

HxH main character - Leorio
Leorio

Leorio is a Hunter that befriended Gon during the Hunter Exam. In order not to give away too much of himself, Leorio superficially claims that his reasons for becoming a Hunter are money alone. However, his true motive is to become a doctor. After losing a friend to a curable illness that he could not afford the treatment of, Leorio dedicates himself to becoming a Hunter so that he can pay for the costs of medical school and medicines to treat the poor for free. A loyal, trustworthy ally who greatly values the ties of friendship,

Leorio acts like the big brother of the group. Though he is often outshone by the genius combat abilities of Gon and Killua, it should be noted that compared to the average man, Leorio is indeed very powerful. He is physically stronger than Gon (when neither are using Nen), and Leorio mastered the Nen principles of Ten and Ren without a professor—a feat that none of his other friends can attest to.

HxH main character - Hisoka
Hisoka

Hisoka (ヒソカ Hisoka?) is one of Hunter × Hunter's main antagonists. Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio first encounter Hisoka during the Hunter Exam where he is known as the most dangerous person among all of the examinees. Hisoka registered for the Hunter Exam before, however, he was thrown out because he tried to kill one of the members of the examination committee.

After the exam, Gon and Killua go to the Heaven's Arena to hone their skills only to find that Hisoka had followed them. Hisoka prevents Gon and Killua's entry to the 200th floor of Heaven's Arena until they have learned Nen, so that they are not permanently harmed by other floor fighters eager to perform an "initiation" ritual.

Hisoka joins the Phantom Troupe in order to get a chance to battle the leader, Kuroro Lucifer, but the his abilities are neutralized by Kurapika's 'Judgement Chain'.

Hisoka travels to 'Greed Island' in order to find a man who can remove the chain's effects. There, he assists Gon and Killua in a deadly dodgeball game. Hisoka is one of the strongest characters of the series. He is voiced by Hiroki Takahashi.

Background Infomation

What is HunterxHunter?

Hunter × Hunter (ハンター×ハンター Hantā Hantā?), is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi.

The story focuses on a young boy named Gon, who discovers that the father he had always been told was dead is in fact alive and well. He learns that his father, Ging, is a legendary "Hunter", an individual who has proven him or herself an elite member of humanity and specializes in finding rare creatures, secret treasure, and other individuals.

Despite Ging having left his son with his relatives in order to pursue his own dreams, Gon becomes determined to follow in his father's footsteps, pass the rigorous "Hunter Examination", and eventually find his father to become a Hunter in his own right. The original inspiration for the manga came from Togashi's own collecting hobby.

Manga & Anime from HxH

Hunter × Hunter began its manga serialization in March 1998 in the Shueisha magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. With 310 chapters to date, it has been published in 27 tankōbon chapter collections in Japan so far.

However, the manga has gone on hiatus a number of times in recent years. Hunter × Hunter was translated into English and released in North America by Viz Media beginning in April 2005.

In 1999, the manga series was adapted into a 62-episode anime series produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, and premiered on the Japanese terrestrial television network Fuji TV and has also aired on the satellite television station Animax.

Three separate original video animations (OVAs) totaling 30 episodes were subsequently produced by Nippon Animation and released in Japan from 2002 to 2004. The television series has been licensed and released in North America by Viz, and it aired on the Funimation Channel starting in 2009. There are also numerous audio albums, video games, musicals, and other media based on Hunter × Hunter.

The Hunter × Hunter manga series has been very popular in Japan, having sold over 44 million copies in the region alone as of January 2008. Critics have positively noted its complex plot and characters and a stark contrast in art style from his previous two series YuYu Hakusho and Level E.
